Bookworm at Heart
When I first packed my luggage - preparing to set off for UK -
I contemplated bringing a few books with me.
Well, I was hoping to bring at least four.
But alas, it wasn't meant to be.
Luggage was packed to the brim and the most I can bring is two.
TWO.
My mum just rolled her eyes and said,
"You definitely can't bring the whole library with you."
Considering I have like, 5 bookshelves....yeah, I can see that.
Fire and Thorns is about a princess who is seen
as lazy and useless and therefore a disappointment to her people.
She is married off to a handsome king of another country which is in turmoil,
where she then took her own fate into her own hands and seek not only her husband's acknowledgement and love, but also the safety of her new home.
Haven't read it yet, but it sounds interesting.
Wonder how a princess who has never rode a horse and dabbled in politics be able to save her home from invaders?
This book is actually a sequel to Touch of Power,
in which Avry is the last healer, THE LAST,
healer in the whole world, after her kind is accused of being responsible of a deadly plague and hunted one by one like animals.
Her fate looks bleak until she was taken in by a group of mercenaries who seek her abilities to cure their prince - the one responsible for her people's demise.
Avry has to make her choice - and pay the price for it.
I like to thank my fellow bookworm, Abigail,
for recommending this book to me from one of her many bookshelves and occasional shoe boxes. It is a good read with good characters.
Definitely beats reading journals....
which I still have to read through. Ugh.
