Student Aliens’ leader is really an alien in the UK
15th July, Monday Morning.
I shifted into my new accommodation at Block K.
I
felt so excited as I got a very big room and it was colder than any of my
current group mates’ rooms. Seeing their jealousy was humorous and that made
me appreciate my room even though the bathroom was still small (I must endure
hitting on the four-walls of the bathroom while bathing).
Things bit me in the back (maybe due to feeling
happy of my group mates jealousy)
when I could not enter the Block K main
entrance after doing my laundry.
Everything was working fine at first, but now,
I am stuck outside of my block.
Keeping calm, I went to the registration
counter.
They reprogrammed my key and I managed to get back into my block.
Feeling so relieved, I headed to my room while carrying my clothes.
Everything
turned upside down when I realized that I could not access my room.
Rage and frustration
was spiking in me but I kept calmed and rushed to the registration counter. Unfortunately,
going to the counter was like adding coals into fire as it was closed.
I got no
other option than calling the Unite office.
They dispatched a security guard at
the Forge to help me.
A huge, tall and fierce guy came in (I wondered when
did I offend him).
He asked my name and went to check the Forge system for my
name.
He looked fiercer when he came back and I found out that my name was neither
in the Forge system nor the UK system.
Therefore; showing my international and
SHU student ID calmed him down
(I don’t want to mess with him). We headed to my
room as he explained a possibility.
He said, “There is a high chance that my file got mixed up with a local student
that signed out of the Forge. Since the local students signing out was the same
time as the international summer program students registering in.”
I was shocked!!! Technically I do not exist in the UK. Only my passport can
prove my existence, if not I will be thrown out by this big, security guy.
Showing my passport saved my butt. Phew!
Well, on the humourous side, he cracked a joke saying that I look like Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Just my body isn’t as muscular as his.
